The Treasures of Tulane

Religious life has always played an important part in Louisiana’s history. LaRC preserves some of the earliest records of many of New Orleans’s religious communities, including the records of Temple Sinai and Touro Synagogue, the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana, and New Orleans’s oldest Unitarian Universalist Church. The records of these institutions, dating back to the 19th century, provide a unique perspective on the events of Louisiana’s past and the development of its culture.
